About CHERYL
Having lived in Northern Virginia all her life, Cheryl Hanback, the company founder was born in Alexandria where her family has deep roots. Frank Michelbach, her great-grandfather founded Michelbach’s Furniture Store on King Street in Old Town in 1904, which remained open until 1977.
One of her grandmothers worked at the Torpedo Factory during the war, and several family members were employed at Potomac Yards.
She attended TC Williams, then Virginia Tech. While at Tech, Cheryl took the coursework and passed the exam for her real estate license in 1977.
Joining her father’s companies, Builders and Developers Realty and The Builders Group, she sold land and lots, found locations for national tenants, organized rezoning presentations, collaborated with architects and engineers on company owned projects and prepared marketing packages.
Since 1990, Cheryl has been a consistent Top Producer and Associate Broker in residential sales with Long and Foster, Redfin and Samson Properties.
With over 250 million dollars in sales in over 500 transactions, Cheryl has learned that many folks require non-traditional assistance when selling their property.
